When a motor starts, the short-time overload generated is many times greater than the nominal current. While this overload should not affect properly designed motors, it could be damaging to most connectors. Thanks to its silver-nickel butt-contact technology, the decontactor withstands these high and repeated overloads without over-heating or change in its performance. The decontactor is thus ideally suited for motor connections, even for motors that have to start frequently.
